Terms & Conditions
Your Dog’s Health and Welfare
Whilst your dog is in Puriton Paw’s care, it’s health & welfare is the primary concern. Although unlikely, accidents can happen. In the event of an accident or serious medical issue arising during your dog’s groom, you authorise Puriton Paws to seek emergency Veterinary attention or to give First Aid treatment as appropriate.
Puriton Paws cannot be held liable for pre-existing health conditions in your dog including those which may not have been identified due to heavy matting of the coat. You will be informed, to enable you to get appropriate Veterinary attention for your dog.
Puriton Paws needs to know if your dog has a history of heart or respiratory problems, epilepsy, allergies, skin conditions, or is taking regular medication.
Please do NOT bring dogs for grooming who are exhibiting signs of ill health such as vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing, high temperature etc.
Groom Feedback
You will be given detailed feedback after every groom, so if you have any queries or need clarification please just ask. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your dog’s groom, please let me know before you leave. Any reasonable requests to alter the trim will be dealt with immediately or changes noted for the next groom.
Puriton Paws is more than happy to explain any details about your dog’s groom or advise you how best to care for your dog’s coat. If for whatever reason you want or need to change groomer your dog’s information can be passed on with your authorisation.
Payment
Puriton Paws accepts cash and most cards
All grooming costs are payable in full at the time you collect your dog
Matted coats
No dog will be subjected to stress or discomfort and will be groomed in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2007. A matted coat will always incur an extra fee for both clipping and/or brushing out.
In the event of your dog’s coat being clipped off, the Owner should be aware that irritation may occur from the clipping process as well as uncovering scabs, cuts or other potential problems. This includes but not exclusive to itchiness, skin redness, irritations, abrasions or minor cuts. There is also a possibility of hematoma if severely matted hair needs to be removed from ears. The Owner agrees that Puriton Paws will not be held liable for any after grooming effects of matt clipping procedures, which is not without risk.
Cancelling your appointment
Puriton Paws respectively requests at least 24 hours notice of cancellation in order to refill your appointment slot. Shorter notice will be subject to a late cancellation fee, a minimum of £15. A non-refundable deposit will then be levied to secure a new appointment. Repeat offenders will be declined future appointments.
Late Drop off
Puriton Paws respectively asks that you contact by telephone in the event of a late drop off. After 30 minutes of your appointment time, you will be asked to rebook and turned away.
Late Pick up
Puriton Paws respectively asks that you contact by telephone in the event of a late pick up. I can accommodate your dog for a short time as long as there has been an agreement made, but if you are late by 30 minutes or more, I will charge a fee of £5 for every half hour over the agreed pick up time. This will be payable before leaving the premises.

If you cannot make your appointment and fail to contact Puriton Paws, you will be charged 50% of your dog’s groom in addition to your next appointment cost.
Aggressive behaviour
If your dog has bitten or has any aggression tendencies the Owner must notify Puriton Paws.
Vaccinations
Any dogs not fully vaccinated can still be groomed, but please be aware that you are leaving the dog in my care, entirely at your (and your dog’s) own risk.
Bitches
Puriton Paws cannot accept a pregnant bitch for any treatment as this can risk the unborn puppies from stress to the mother.
Teeth cleaning and Anal Gland Expression
The procedures are deemed to be "veterinary procedures" and therefore under the Veterinary Surgeons Act we are now prevented from performing these services for you..
